its that time again: the Music roundtup returns! holy shit february is really busy of music for me. also ive written this in multipe different episodes none of them good so i apologize in advance if some of this is like, a little more incomprehensible than usual. but music!

SAWTOWNE ft. hatsune miku -- confessions of a rotten girl

i briefly mentioned this in my blog post for january but this song fucking slaps, hard. SAWTOWNE has a damn unique style of PVs and music making that i enjoy SO much. this song also drips with 2010s fujo culture it made me nostalgia for my teenage years, which is hard to do on account of the fact i actively repress most of my teenage years! lmao. looking forwards to the next banger because clearly so far all SAWTOWNE can make is bangers???

TAK/DORIDORI ft. hatsune miku -- lemon melon cookie

cute fun song! i found this through instagram reels of all things? lemon melon cookie lemon melon cookie lemon! idk this one reminds me a lot of classic vocaloid when i was younger so i feel like its good vibes. it has the same space in my brain as your love will surely skyrocket. :)

HALLO CEL ft. hatsune miku & kasane teto -- candy chocolate cookie

this one has the same artist as mesmerizer for the pv im pretty sure, but actually is catchy with good tuning for both teto and miku! this one also gives me nostalgia for old vocaloid hits ngl. idk it just has a good beat and good teto tuning. get ready for a lot of "good teto tuning" to be on here also

mimizu ft. kasane teto -- feel empty!

speaking of good teto tuning: feel empty! is a fun one that i really enjoy. i like seeing the great teto rennaissance it fills my heart with so much love truthfully. there are a lot of teto bops filtering into my youtube recs lately and it's making me feel very nostalgic, both because its making me get the rust back off my hiragana and katakana comprehension as well as it reminds me of when i was younger digging through obscure vocaloid releases on niconico lmao

kendrick lamar -- GNX

this might not surprise you being on here considering im still trying to explore the rap space, but holy shit i kind of fucking love this album in a way i didnt expect. i feel like its probably safe for me to say that kendrick lamar is my favorite rapper atm? something in this album i cannot articulate hits in a very specific unidentifiable way. i love the beats, the sampling, his bars are really fucking good, maybe i got too invested in kendricks discog after watching a lot about the kendrick v drake beef but i really just think GNX is a great fucking album. might be the first rap album i end up getting a vinyl for. honestly a rare 10/10.

hiiragi magnetite ft. kasane teto -- tetoris

a tetris remix song? in this economy? its a banger idk what else you want from the guy who had memorized the hit ytp mami tetris in my pmmm days. moving on

will stetson -- donut hole (ENGLISH COVER)

i audibly gasped ad hollered when this showed up in my youtube feed ngl. its donut hole. the song fucking slaps. stetsons english lyrics are consistently really good, as a certified oldhead(tm) who grew up on the likes of rockleetist, jubyphonicP, and ashetoashjec! he has a really good sound and range that i deeply enjoy listening to in general so this was just a nice little treat for this vocasynth nostalgia blogpost overall honestly. bye-bye to the colors that all have faded!

flavor foley -- cardiac contrepoint

the architects behind BUTCHER VANITY have released a full album! im gonna get ahead of myself now and say it right out: if you really liked BUTCHER VANITY's sound, you are going to be a little disappointed. because i was a little disappointed, truthfully. this is a vocasynth album and unlike the previous vocasynth full album reviews ive done i think this album has clear highs and clear lows.

the STANDOUTS: PAPARAZZI MURDER PARTY, rawdog, weiward romance. rawdog is a goofy sex song and as a gay man whos a little bit bitey, i do love me a good gay sex song with a dogboy thats kind of rough. rawdog kind of hits a point in my brain that old silly nsfw classics hit like kurumi poncho and maybe even the king, SPICE!. the vb used in this however is fucking AMAZING and i do hope to see more songs by hayden synthv. as you may have gathered, while i am a teto stan, i severely love masc vbs and they always get no fucking love i miss you kaito i miss you gakupo i miss you dex

ahem. anyways. weiward romance is a banger with catchy lyrics, a great beat, and great vocals courtesy of fantastic tuning of the vsynth feng yi! probably my favorite song off the album that isnt butcher vanity which is cheating. this is a song i can envision in project diva very easily. PAPPARAZI MURDER PARTY fucking slaps idk if its a re-cover or remix or what but i do think its easily one of the best songs on here and probably my favorite song besides BUTCHER VANITY.

im gonna be totally real i dont like the other half of this album! and at least half of that maybe more is due to the other synths used, unfortunately. queen of venus is a song that i think objectively has amazing lyrics but i cannot fucking stand adachi rei. this is NOT just me being an oldhead UTAU stan but i frankly cannot stand the vbs that are purposefully designed to sound like shit. its a personal issue. i dont need like, "humanlike" vocals but i need them to be actually listenable and shit. water the roses is a classic GUMI english song and quite honestly its a good song, genuinely, it fits right in with old-style GUMI songs and i can envision a lot of parody MVs of this song right next to coward montblanc and mozaik role. another project diva banger for sure. i just dont personally vibe with it.

ultimately i think for me this album is like a 6/10, the album objectively is probably more of an 8.5/10. i dont envy them they sort of struck lightning in a fucking bottle with BUTCHER VANITY and it was going to be devastatingly hard to do a followup album after that. i am very deeply intrigued and excited for more music from flavor foley because i do think theres only up to go from here!

pinocchioP ft. hatsune miku -- super superhero

pinocchioP using an older-style miku tuning thats more robotic fascinates me so much. i dont think anyone could debate that pinocchioP has one of the most distinctive styles and that might make their songs sound kind of similar but i think i enjoy super superhero more than some of their older, more famous songs like god-ish. i love the mv for this song a lot though its really unsettling to me. probably like an 8.5/10, really interesting and catchy.

circusP x FLAVOR FOLEY ft. KAITO -- electric weekend zone

oh my god a kaito song? in this economy? i dont even care if kaito was never meant for english. i dont even care if this song is mid. this is an automatic 10/10 because i am literally desperate for KAITO content ok? (all joking aside, CRAZY to see flavor foley collab with circusP. HUGE. this song is very bouncy even though i struggle to comprehend what is being said but honestly thats not their problem KAITO never got an english vb or anything that i know of.) all hail KAITO/10

oh shit new scary jokes ep this month has sincerely been popping the fuck off. scary jokes has a pretty unique sound - if youve heard them, you Know the sound, and this is no different. however it is much more melancholy and dare i say reminds me of yume nikki and other classic rpgmakerhorror game osts? than the other scary jokes albums. i do enjoy it a lot more than i expected to honestly? i think i still would like to see more experimentation but its hard to argue against the trance 8bit disassociation vibes. my fave songs off this ep are is that me?? and unsee yourself. 8/10

cute eng vocasynth song that is not actually all that cute and about toxic yuri! short but catchy. i smell promise in the air, folks

monochroMenance ft. kasane teto -- REGRET ROCK

BOPPER ALERT??????? sorry but when your chorus opens with "MY EX'S NAME IS TATTOOED ON MY-" you have my whole attention lmao. anthem for impulsive depressed hysterical bitches for real!!! CHEERS BRO ILL DRINK TO THIS! this one gets a 10/10 for me i fucking love this actually. garage rock vocasynth nation NOW

HERE COMES RED VOX WITH A STEEL FUCKING CHAIR!!!!!! this song fucking slaps and it makes me VERY VERY VERY excited alongside remember and the singles debuted at live at TMG and live at magfest. like the new album is shaping up to be possibly their best album yet, and it REALLY reminds me of Another Light, which has me fucking vibrating off the face of the earth.

"here today / gone when, who can say / i'd be late to my funeral day" is like, some of my favorite lyrics in a while. jesus christ. when this album drops its over for me. 10/10

phew holy shit a LOT of music came out in the last two months bro. what the hell is in the month of february. every time i thought i was done adding a song to this one ANOTHER FUCKING SONG CAME OUT!!!!
