a build a bear review: gay bearlien, 2024

you know, i've had this guy for months now and i realized i never did a review on him! i got him for literally $8 during a sale with a $10 rewards card and he was my last DISO so i haven't really accquired more build a bears since; this WILL change, i recently got a good deal ($35!) on a leafeon BAB and there's one or two upcoming leaked ones i'm intrigued by... but until then, let's meet my pride friend!!!
construction
fabric type: extremely soft, medium-length minky. he's the softest build a bear i own bar none. he also has the longest fur of all the BABs i have (sanrios and pokemon).
stitching: really good! his medium length fur hides his seams even better than chococat and fuecoco, honestly, so they're basically nonexistant.
he is SO soft. mine has been named arsene due to a myriad of circumstances and he's often the BAB that cuddles with me when i'm at maximum sensory overload and need to bury my face on him. he's even softer than chococat, and his medium length fur hides aMll of the head seams, so he's like... perfect to bury my face on.
he's the same size as the sanrios (kuromi/chococat); this would be
2 nintendo switches tall and
half a switch wide. i have him in a hellfire club tshirt to match my hellfire club shirt; he's my pride buddy and my esp for days i need to be at Maximum Masc Energy.
his eyes are a
very smooth plastic with no ridges or bumps. i actually really enjoy the texture of his eyes a lot. i run my hands over them absentmindedly when i'm just sitting.
i also have to admit: i enjoy his fur texture more than chococat's... however, i think i need to get one of the BAB pet brushes and brush out chococat's head fur because it might just be flat from being snuggled with a lot. the nice medium length fur is a perfect balance between not too long (i really hate true faux fur, lol) and long enough to give just a little added texture. i did have a few people ask on the BAB subreddit so i haven't had any fur pulling out or anything, or bald spots; he has been perfect since i got him!
overall i highly recommend him! it seems like he has a similar texture to the infamous frog line; the BAB frogs are apparently so ubiquious with autistic folks that there's been like MANY reports of therapists asking what is UP with those damn frogs because like 70% of their autistic patients bring one in. which is very funny, but i get it, because the bearlien is MY weirdboy autism friend.
